Frequently Asked Questions
Questions
Where are the lessons held?
The lessons are at your home pool, community pool or a friends pool. We do not provide a pool.
How long are the lessons?
30 minutes per child! If you have more than one child then we will book your lessons back to back.
How often should I do lessons?
We recommend 2-3 lessons a week for skill retention and to prevent burnout.
How far in advance should I book my lessons?
You should book your lessons as soon as you know your schedule as our slots fill up quickly immediately after our instructors schedules are posted.
What is your cancellation policy?
Lessons cancelled within 24 hours of the original lesson time will be charged a $15 fee. Lesson cancelled with more than 24 notice can be rescheduled at no additional cost.
Are there make up lessons?
If you have cancelled your lesson before 24 hours from the original lesson time, it is your responsibilty to reschedule the lesson with your swim instructor before the end of the season. We also have a make up only swim instructor to make sure you have an opportunity to complete all your lessons before the end of the swim season.
When do I pay?
Lessons are to be paid for in full at the beginning of each month or the date that initial lessons begin, followed by the first day of the month in the second month.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Trial swim lessons are not an ideal indicator of progress, because of this Graceful Swimming requires a minimum of one week. It can take 2-3 lessons for initial progress and a connection between swimmer and instructor to be made. It is important to maintain consistency and routine once swim lessons have begun.
How many lesson should I book?
Graceful Swimming is a progressive swim program meaning we teach continual growth through the season. Fewer than 12-16 lessons is cutting the learning progression short, this can cause regression of skills learned.
Do you offer Mommy and Me classes?
We do not offer official Mommy and Me lessons. However, for some of our smaller swimmers it can be helpful to have mom or dad in the water for the first few lessons. This decision will be made by the swim instructor as needed.
Do you offer group lessons?
No, all of our lessons are one-on-one. We will schedule lesson one after the other for siblings, friends etc., as our schedule allows.
How long will it take my child to learn to swim?
Every swimmer progresses at a different rate. We will be happy to discuss your child progress after the first few lessons.
What if my child does not click with an intructor?
Connection with an instructor is very important. If your child does not click with the original instructor we will do our best to move your lesson to a antother instructor.
